Because Issuu is handled by the gallery route. It enumerates the files attached to the post or album you pointed at instead of picking one, so a post with eight images returns eight images. If you only wanted one, link the individual item rather than the container.

No, and that is deliberate. Issuu gates private material behind a signed-in session; we fetch as an anonymous browser and hold no credentials, so we see exactly what a logged-out visitor sees. If a post needs a follow request to view, it needs one to download.

Among others: publication, user. Those are separate URL shapes with separate handling behind them, which is why a link that looks nothing like the last one you pasted still works.

Because there is nothing to select between. The gallery route returns the file as Issuu stored it — one version, at its uploaded size. A quality menu here would be decoration over a single option.

No. The file streams through and is gone; there is no library, no history and nothing to delete afterwards. That is also why we cannot re-send you something you downloaded last week.

No. This is a web page with a text box. Anything that asks you to install an executable to save the Issuu link is asking for more access than the job requires.
