The Loom link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Loom for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the GIF file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Loom encoded at. Among the Loom link shapes handled are folder. A typical Loom item runs a few minutes. The renditions we see from Loom arrive as MP4, WEBM.
