Shimmie2 Gallery Downloader: Save Whole Albums at Original Size

Point it at the Shimmie2 post and every file inside comes back at its uploaded size.

The short version

There is a difference between watching something on Shimmie2 and having it. A link can be taken down, made private or region-locked tomorrow; the GIF file on your own disk cannot. That is the entire point of this page. Everything from Shimmie2 goes through the gallery route, which enumerates a post's files instead of negotiating a stream. Shimmie2 is one of the smaller integrations here, so the extractor keeps its handling deliberately general rather than assuming a page layout.

The address bar works too. Prefix any Shimmie2 URL with tikt.com/:

tikt.com/https://www.example.com/path/to/media

What you actually have to do

1. Open the Shimmie2 post

Find the Shimmie2 post, album or profile page holding what you want and copy its address. A post URL gets you that post; a profile URL gets you what the profile has published.

2. Paste it above

Drop the URL into the field at the top of this page. The gallery extractor enumerates the files attached to that Shimmie2 page rather than guessing at one.

3. Take the files

Each file is listed at the size it was uploaded to Shimmie2. Save one, or save the lot — nothing has been resampled or re-encoded in between.

Частыя пытанні

Because Shimmie2 is handled by the gallery route. It enumerates the files attached to the post or album you pointed at instead of picking one, so a post with eight images returns eight images. If you only wanted one, link the individual item rather than the container.

Because there is nothing to select between. The gallery route returns the file as Shimmie2 stored it — one version, at its uploaded size. A quality menu here would be decoration over a single option.

Shimmie2 is one of the smaller integrations here, so the handling is kept general on purpose rather than assuming a specific page layout that could change next week. Ordinary item links are the ones most likely to resolve cleanly.

No cap you have to pay to lift and no trial that expires. The paid plan exists for people who download in bulk or want the API; a single Shimmie2 link does not need it and never will.

Yes, identically. The work happens on our side, so an old phone on a slow connection is no worse at resolving the Shimmie2 link than a desktop — it just downloads the file more slowly afterwards.

No. This is a web page with a text box. Anything that asks you to install an executable to save the Shimmie2 link is asking for more access than the job requires.

No. The file streams through and is gone; there is no library, no history and nothing to delete afterwards. That is also why we cannot re-send you something you downloaded last week.

Not by us. There is no re-encode step in the path, so the file you get is bit-for-bit what Shimmie2 served. Whatever compression Shimmie2 applied when it accepted the upload is already baked in and cannot be undone by anyone.
