The Bfi link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Bfi for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the MP3 file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Bfi encoded at. Bfi's extractor is currently flagged as unreliable upstream, so an occasional failure there is expected rather than surprising. Nothing here re-encodes, so an audio-only file exists only where Bfi publishes one; where it ships audio muxed inside the video stream, that stream is what there is to take. No credentials are involved anywhere in this path — neither yours nor ours.
