The Bpb link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Bpb for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the MP3 file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Bpb encoded at. Bpb publishes real audio renditions, so an audio request there is a copy rather than a re-encode.
