The Br link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Br for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the MP3 file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Br encoded at. Br's extractor is currently flagged as unreliable upstream, so an occasional failure there is expected rather than surprising. Br publishes real audio renditions, so an audio request there is a copy rather than a re-encode. A typical Br item runs a few minutes.
