The Koo link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Koo for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the video file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Koo encoded at. Koo's extractor is currently flagged as unreliable upstream, so an occasional failure there is expected rather than surprising. The renditions we see from Koo arrive as MP4. Koo routinely carries items over an hour long, which makes file size the practical limit rather than speed.
