The Metacritic link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Metacritic for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the video file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Metacritic encoded at. The renditions we see from Metacritic arrive as MP4. A typical Metacritic item runs a few minutes.
