The short version

No app, no extension, no account. The whole thing is a text box and a link — you paste the Pixiv URL, we resolve it, you get the photo file. Anything more than that would be us adding steps for our benefit rather than yours. Pixiv supports signed-in sessions upstream, which is precisely how it hides private material; we browse anonymously, so that material stays hidden. What you actually have to do
1. Open the Pixiv post

Find the Pixiv post, album or profile page holding what you want and copy its address. A post URL gets you that post; a profile URL gets you what the profile has published.

2. Paste it above

Drop the URL into the field at the top of this page. The gallery extractor enumerates the files attached to that Pixiv page rather than guessing at one.

3. Take the files

Each file is listed at the size it was uploaded to Pixiv. Save one, or save the lot — nothing has been resampled or re-encoded in between.

Because Pixiv is handled by the gallery route. It enumerates the files attached to the post or album you pointed at instead of picking one, so a post with eight images returns eight images. If you only wanted one, link the individual item rather than the container.

No, and that is deliberate. Pixiv gates private material behind a signed-in session; we fetch as an anonymous browser and hold no credentials, so we see exactly what a logged-out visitor sees. If a post needs a follow request to view, it needs one to download.

Among others: artworks, avatar, background, favorite. Those are separate URL shapes with separate handling behind them, which is why a link that looks nothing like the last one you pasted still works.

Whatever the URL names. A single-item Pixiv link returns that item; a collection or feed URL returns what the collection holds. If you got more than you expected, you pasted the container rather than the item.
