Redgifs is one of the few platforms wired into both routes at once, because its posts and its streams are genuinely different things. Nothing here re-encodes, so an audio-only file exists only where Redgifs publishes one; where it ships audio muxed inside the video stream, that stream is what there is to take.

A post link and a stream link are both fine here — they take different paths internally and you do not have to care which.
The URL shape decides the route: album-style Redgifs links go to the gallery extractor, stream-style links to the media extractor.
A post can return several files and a stream returns one. Either way nothing was re-encoded on the way through.
