The Stitcher link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Stitcher for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the profile file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Stitcher encoded at. Stitcher leans towards half-hour-plus items, so downloads there are measured in minutes rather than seconds. The renditions we see from Stitcher arrive as MP3. No credentials are involved anywhere in this path — neither yours nor ours.
