The Streamable link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Streamable for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the photo file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Streamable encoded at. Items on Streamable are typically under a minute, so the files are small.
