Two routes, one box: Tiktok posts and Tiktok streams
Tiktok publishes live output next to finished uploads, and the two behave differently. A replay, VOD or clip has a settled file behind it and downloads normally. A stream that is still running does not have an end yet, so wait for the replay to appear before pasting the link. Tiktok is one of the broader integrations here — 7 distinct link shapes are handled rather than a single canonical one. Tiktok is one of the few platforms wired into both routes at once, because its posts and its streams are genuinely different things. Items on Tiktok are typically under a minute, so the files are small.

How to get the Reels file
1. Grab whichever Tiktok link you have
A post link and a stream link are both fine here — they take different paths internally and you do not have to care which.
2. Paste and let it route
The URL shape decides the route: album-style Tiktok links go to the gallery extractor, stream-style links to the media extractor.
3. Collect what came back
A post can return several files and a stream returns one. Either way nothing was re-encoded on the way through.

Tiktok is wired into both extractors. A post or album URL goes to the gallery route and returns the files attached to it; a stream URL goes to the media route and returns one negotiated rendition. Same box, different machinery, decided by the shape of the link.
Not usefully. A running stream has no end yet, so there is no finished file to hand you. Wait until Tiktok publishes the replay or VOD — at that point it behaves like any other item and downloads normally.
Among others: collection, effect, live, sound. Those are separate URL shapes with separate handling behind them, which is why a link that looks nothing like the last one you pasted still works.
MP4 — whatever Tiktok itself serves. The container is passed straight through rather than rebuilt, so there is no second round of compression between the platform's copy and yours.
Whatever the URL names. A single-item Tiktok link returns that item; a collection or feed URL returns what the collection holds. If you got more than you expected, you pasted the container rather than the item.
No. 7 different Tiktok URL shapes are recognised, which covers the ordinary address-bar URL, the share variant and most of the odd ones in between. Paste whatever you copied; if it is the Tiktok address it will almost certainly resolve.
Seconds, normally. Items on Tiktok are typically short, so the file is small and the transfer is over almost as soon as it starts. If it stalls, that is a connection problem rather than a queue — there is no queue.
You get the best progressive rendition Tiktok publishes for that item, chosen automatically. There is no upscaling on offer, because inventing pixels that Tiktok never encoded would make the file bigger and not better.
