The Gbnews link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Gbnews for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the photo file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Gbnews encoded at. No credentials are involved anywhere in this path — neither yours nor ours.
The address bar works too. Prefix any Gbnews URL with tikt.com/:
tikt.com/https://www.example.com/path/to/media
Use the address bar or the platform's own share button — both give a URL the extractor recognises. Point it at the single item you want, not the page around it.
Paste the URL above. The extractor asks Gbnews which renditions exist for that item and picks the best progressive one rather than assuming a quality.
The file arrives in the container Gbnews served it in, and the extractor does not rebuild it — so what you end up with is what the uploader encoded, for better or worse.
