The Kick link is resolved by our media extractor. It asks Kick for the list of renditions it publishes for that item, takes the best progressive one and streams it through to you as the photo file. Nothing is transcoded on the way, so quality is whatever Kick encoded at. The extractor covers 3 separate Kick URL shapes, so a link copied from anywhere on the site usually resolves as-is. Kick also carries live output, and a stream still in progress has no final file to give you yet. Items on Kick are typically under a minute, so the files are small.
The address bar works too. Prefix any Kick URL with tikt.com/:

Use the address bar or the platform's own share button — both give a URL the extractor recognises. Point it at the single item you want, not the page around it.
Paste the URL above. The extractor asks Kick which renditions exist for that item and picks the best progressive one rather than assuming a quality.
The file arrives in the container Kick served it in, and the extractor does not rebuild it — so what you end up with is what the uploader encoded, for better or worse.
